  • The Star reporter Tashny Sukumaran was denied entry at the guardhouse to the Defence Ministry (Mindef) as her knees were showing. She went to the Mindef yesterday to cover a presentation of Hari Raya goodies to the armed forces by the prime minister’s wife, and the event was also attended by the defence minister and his deputy.

  • The proposal that food outlets close their doors by midnight to reduce social problems appears to be another case of politicians attempting to legislate how businesses should operate. An earlier case is how the public should dress when visiting government departments, the merit of which is still being debated and now even Cuepacs is supporting it.

  • I have raised in the past about ‘abuse’ of status by some VIPS, but apparently either the VIPs are not literate or do not understand, and if if they do understand, do not want to take heed due to their arrogance/assumption that they are either above the law or exempted from the law.
