,' Dec 24) is trying to be too nice to Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Deputy Prime Minister Dr Abdullah Badawi Ahmad. Does he really believe that they do not know the overall direction this country is heading?

The series of persecutions against non-Malays is not accidental. Prior to Singapore's separation from Malaysia, Lee Kuan Yew accused Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra of failure to control the extremists in Umno. Time has proved LKY to be right.

The extremists are in control and dictating the terms. Even if the PM and DPM claim to be ignorant of such happenings, articles in the local dailies would have alerted them. This " buat bodoh" (playing dumb) attitude has worn thin over the years.

It is only recently that our PM tried to negotiate with PAS to form a united front for Muslims, or as he put it "ketuanan Melayu" (Malay supremacy) and "ketuanan Islam" (Islam supremacy).

The education minister (Musa Mohamad) speaking to the press in Singapore early last year or late year before, said that the reason for his 'Vision' School concept was that the vernacular schools in Malaysia do not promote national integration! Now you know what he is going to do to the vernacular schools.
