• Has Anwar really lost his bearings?

  • I don't know whether it is naivety or sheer desperation for political survival that the Opposition Leader attended the occasion organised by the artificial Hindraf leaders.

As it stands, with the showdown with Jeffrey and Zaid, Anwar seems to be embarking on endorsing suspicious personalities.

Similar to Najib who jumped the gun in endorsing Makkal Sakti Party Malaysia, Anwar seems to be endorsing another offshoot of the Hindraf movement that lacks credence.

Food for thought: the architect who financed the Makkal Sakti Party is philanthropist OMS Thiagarajan who is closely associated with S Subramaniam and owns about 40 percent of the Tamil daily Makkal Oosai.

The same person now financed Vasanthakumar's event and was present during the occasion that Anwar attended.

Vasanthakumar is also known within the Klang community to have a close relationship with one K P Samy, the undying ally of Subramaniam and is practically at all MIC functions since his release from ISA.

Why Anwar would even engage such suspicious characters bemuses me unless it is just politics as usual.

It is so obvious; all these purported Hindraf leaders claim that they have the support of the grassroots, but only have one thing in common - their own political agenda.

Anwar doesn't seem to realise that he is a pawn of this Hindraf faction or is he so gullible to embrace someone with such dodgy credentials?

At least Thanenthiran of Makkal Sakti Party had the dignity to voice his political ambitions and openly courted Barisan Nasional.

This Vasanthakumar instead slanders Uthayakumar and Waythamoorthy who were synonymous with Hindraf from day one.

Does this lend any credibility to a purported leader? Would you not rather be talking about your plans on how to uplift society on such an occasion?

Both Uthayakumar and Waythamoorthy have proven credibility. Uthayakumar, for the last 18 years has been battling with the police on human rights violations.

Waythamoorthy in fighing for the plight of the marginalised Malaysian Indian and abolishment of ISA won recognition for Hindraf's struggle and the release of the ISA detainees.

Today, one faction is courted by BN and Anwar courts the other faction. What is baffling is why neither party could ever court the originators of Hindraf?

Both Makkal Sakti and this Vasanthakumar's Hindraf have politically motivated personalities at their helms, instead of someone who would fight for justice and equality.

Anwar, I hope you know what you are doing. This guy could end up being another political trap for you as was the Saiful episode.
