Seremban's Muhyiddin buntings: What austerity?

I can't help but notice that the Negri Sembilan government seems to have a very big budget for the printing of buntings and banners to commemorate festive occasions or the visit of VIPs to the state.

I am of course referring to the hundreds of buntings welcoming the Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin's visit to the state this coming Saturday that have been hung on so many lamp posts around the main roads of Seremban town and along Jalan Paroi/Senawang, and God knows where else around the state.

Are these buntings absolutely necessary? Isn't this a waste of public funds? I would think our deputy prime minister would be rather embarrassed to see so many of these buntings with his face on it which will only serve its purpose for one day!

If the menteri besar is so keen in flattering his boss, he could have one big banner to welcome the deputy prime minister at the entrance to the Seremban toll plaza and be done with it. That would have been less gross.

In these hard times, the people want the government to spend their tax money prudently and not lavishly on something that won't bring in any benefit except to boost the egos of certain sycophantic politicians.
