The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) refers to a news report by Malaysiakini dated September 13, 2012, entitled 'Langkawi police asked for bribe, say Taiwanese tourists'.

Regarding this matter, an MACC officer has met a representative of the Taiwan's Ministry of Justice, Investigation Bureau (MJIB), who is attached to the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia, on July 22, 2012 in Selangor.

According to the MJIB representative, the Taiwanese tourist has returned to Taiwan and he does not want to lodge an official complaint with MACC. He added that the tourist also does not want to testify in court.

Following this, the MACC officer and MJIB representative then proceeded to lodge a report with the Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission (Siap) in Putrajaya on July 27, 2012 so that disciplinary action could be taken against the policemen.

During the meeting, the MJIB representative handed over an audio recording of the incident as well as pictures of the policemen (in the form of a CD) to a Siap officer, whom said he will review the report and CD before taking any further action.
