There is an old saying that says what goes round comes around. Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad is now faced with the harsh reality of the threat to expose Azalina's sexual preference. He certainly cannot afford the media circus and bad publicity that usually follows and will be more embarrassed if the 'jury' of the land find Azalina guilty. After all it was he who picked Azalina and now he faces the prospect of doing an Anwar on Azalina too.
Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has publicly said that action will be taken against the accuser, Ummi Hafilda Ali, if her allegations are baseless. But usually in such cases, all the evidence is circumstantial but nevertheless enough to convince some of us.
Before we get too tantalised by the turn of events, we should also remember that Ummi is an opportunistic businesswoman who is said to be not doing too well nowadays.
What are the odds of her changing her mind just before the Puteri Umno elections? I think you can go to the bank on this Mahathir and Umno will be left going on with their merry ways.
