Things have got so bad in MCA that I don’t think the present party leadership knows the answers any more.

A prima facie case could be made for impeaching the leadership of Chua Soi Lek, Liow Tiong Lai, Gan Ping Sieu, etc for bringing the party into the shame, degradation, humiliation and disrepute. MCA under this leadership has lost the trust of its members and the Chinese community. MCA’s image has nose-dived and has hit rock-bottom.

The leadership does not appear to have a clue about how to save the image of the party - swaying back and forth with their Chua-Liow-Gan factional disputes.

For too long the MCA leadership has perpetuated a feudalistic atmosphere to keep its grip on power. Their system of governance lacks transparency and accountability. The amount of power wielded by these few is far too great.

This December’s 2013 MCA AGM is the watershed - a do or die.

The time has come for the party members to realise that MCA belongs to ALL of us, the members. The party definitely do not belong to the incumbent elected officials, who at the most are merely managers entrusted with running the party. All these managers have no security of tenure. We, the members can just fire them.

The disastrous results of the 505 general election have confirmed that the incumbents have failed us miserably. It’s time to kick them out!

The central delegates must rise up - reclaim our rights. Throw away the ‘cai tans/ menu’ organised by these failures!

Vote for a new team to lead the MCA forward.

TAN FOONG LUEN is a central delegate from Seremban.
