I refer to Nasir Khan's remarks in ' Pak Lah, where's the evidence against ISA-6? '

In defending Pak Lah's personal integrity as our acting prime minister, I feel that it is my duty as a long-time friend, and as a responsible and loyal citizen, to rebut Nasir's unreasonable and naive remarks.

Both ISA and OSA, which had been passed by Parliament, should remain non-debatable and not to be compromised so that they can protect the well-being of our own citizens under any circumstances, even in violation of human rights.

I am sure that even when the opposition alliance is voted into power to replace Barisan Nasional, it will also adopt such security measures to maintain and uphold national security at the highest level. What's happening in Iraq today will serve as an invaluable lesson and experience to all of us here in Malaysia and around the world.

I strongly urged Nasir to come out of his cocoon and face the realities of the world today and be more sensitive towards other more important and relevant issues at this critical moment of our lives. It is absolutely irrelevant for Nasir to compare the continued detention of the ISA-6 with the universal demand for the United States to prove (with evidence) that the Saddam Hussein regime was in possession of weapons of mass destruction.

I do not subscribe to the arguments (legal or otherwise) that our fellow Malaysians should continue to disrupt our national security.

All those who are in opposition to the Barisan Nasional government are certainly welcome to challenge and overthrow the incumbent government if they are so unhappy and feel discontent with the present political situation under the leadership of Dr Mahathir and his deputy, Abdullah.

Alternatively, they can choose to migrate to another country.
