Culture, Arts and Tourism Minister Abdul Kadir Sheikh Fadzir's remark about flag flying and patriotism is shallow and insulting.
I am a proud Malaysian who choose to remain here although I can make a better living elsewhere. But I dislike flying flags - never considered one for the top of the car and never will consider one for the roof of the house.
So what? Am I unpatriotic? Don't insult me, please. If the minister's interpretation of patriotism is such, then if I will fly 10 flags, and you only have one, does that make me tenfold more patriotic than you?
