I am a resident of Taman Midah. Recently, while travelling along Jalan Cheras, I saw a board announcing the countdown to the closure of the Jalan Cheras toll plaza, put up by a politician from MCA..

I wonder about the politician's motive in putting up the board. If not for the residents of Cheras who have been paying toll for several years to enrich the toll company, and yet having to suffer the daily traffic jams, I really wonder whether the decision would have been made to end the toll collection.

The credit for ending toll collection has nothing to do with the politician from MCA. The credit must go to the residents of Cheras. They know the number of days till the end of the toll collection as we have been doing our own countdown since charges were first imposed.

To all Cheras residents, you were the ones who have helped end the toll collection and nobody can take that credit away from us.
