As a Jaring subscriber who had converted to Streamyx, I too face the same problem as AS Toh .

As the dial-up service is quite slow in the Klang Valley, I subscribed to Streamyx service as I need to be online for a long time to do research (I still use Jaring's dial-up whenever I go back to my hometown as the speed there is quite fast for dial-up service). I received a free ADSL modem due to a promotion by Streamyx.

Initially, I manage to send and receive e-mail from Jaring servers (SMTP and POP) as usual, but after one week, I started to have difficulties to send mail through Streamyx using Jaring's SMTP outgoing mail server. This problem was solved by getting mail from Jaring incoming POP server when sending mail as it gives the server login information.

Then Jaring started to set so that sending mail from IP address other than Jaring IP address as roaming services. I tried to solve it by trying to use the roaming service but failed.

At this point, I tried every tricks to overcome this as I still need to use my Jaring account to send mail to certain mailing lists. At one point, when I want to send a mail, I will disconnect from Streamyx and dial up Jaring at 1511.

Then I tried using Streamyx's outgoing SMTP mail server with my Streamyx e-mail address at identity's 'e-mail address' but with my Jaring e-mail address under the 'reply-to address'. (I'm using Netscape Messanger/Communicator 4.7x).

With this trick, I am able to send email out, with replies going into my Jaring account without needing to disconnect from Streamyx and dial up to Jaring. At the same time, I still can download Jaring email from the Jaring server while still connected to Streamyx.

Every day, I will check my Streamyx account at webmail.tm.net.my for stray email, but so far very few e-mail have strayed into this account when using this trick. For other email clients, try to this trick as well, who knows - it may work for you.
