After reading the letters to malaysiakini which supported the return of Chin Peng to Malaysia, I could not but feel sad and at the same time flabbergasted.

Sad because such letters reopened old wounds which we want to forget. Flabbergasted because there seem to be people who are so insensitive to the hardships and sufferings of Malaysians (Malayans then) at the hands of the communist terrorists and have the cheek to support his return.

In 1950, communist terrorists (all of them Chinese) entered our village in Kampar and burned all our houses. In the confusion that ensued, one of my cousins who was only eight years old hid in one cupboard and was burnt alive. What sins had they committed against Chin Peng and his cohorts? They were just simple rubber tappers and Muslims who were against the communists because they did not believe in God.

This belief that Chin Peng fought to liberate Malaya from the British and the Japanese is just nonsense. Did not the Japanese propagandised that they wanted to liberate Malaya from the British then?

What Chin Peng and his gang of terrorists wanted was to free Malaya from British rule and then turn it over to Mao Zedong as a colony of communist China. Then Chin Peng would become the provincial governor of communist Malaya.

I would fully support Chin Peng to return to Malaysia only on condition that we are allowed to hang him for his atrocities against our family members.
