Why is Keadilan being silent about the proposed implementation of hudud and qisas laws in Terengganu?
There are five Keadilan leaders in parliament who have sworn to protect and uphold the Malaysian Federal constitution. The hudud and qisas enactment that PAS is invoking in Terengganu is clearly in violation of the constitution, yet there seems to be utter silence on Keadilan's position on the whole issue and how they feel about it.
I have a few pertinent questions:
1) Why isn't there a statement issued in effect of explaining BA's position with regards to PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang's plan?
2) How does BA intend to resolve differences in ideological ideals? Will it be a deafening silence guised under the solidarity banner or will members actually put the interests of the rakyat first?
3) Why isn't more being done to provide information to the public? The current Keadilan w
website
, was announced by Raja Petra Kamaruddin since the July 1999 has not been updated for weeks. If information is indeed provided, where can the public get access to it?4) If Dr Mahathir and Karpal Singh can speak out against PAS' blatant violation of the Federal Constitution by trying to pass a criminal law under federal jurisdiction, would it really be too much to expect Dr Syed Husin Ali and Dr Wan Azizah to do the same?
5) Do Keadilan members believe that the constitution should be changed in order to allow PAS to invoke hudud laws in Terengganu? Does Barisan Alternatif plan to change the constitution to this effect if they do come into power?
I really hope somebody in authority in Keadilan can answer my questions. I feel that Keadilan leaders are not doing enough to reach out to the public.
The rakyat are watching... and more importantly judging.
