I refer to Adam Razak's letter titled ' Give us affordable cars ' and would like to agree wholeheartedly to his comments.

As a developing country which is far ahead of other third world nations, we have a poor public transportation system. I cannot imagine being without my Proton Wira for even one day. Where I live there is no public transportation at all, except for an LRT station about one kilometer away. There is no feeder bus that comes my way either.

I remember when I was a boy there used to be those prolific mini buses that zoomed in and out of my housing area, and getting places was just a matter of walking 500 meters to a bus stand and waiting 15 minutes. Ever since the mini buses were abolished and Intrakota was given the task of ferrying us around, things have gotten from bad to worse to hopeless.

For the sake of my future children, I just hope that car prices will become reasonably affordable and the public transport system improves.
