I have upgraded my Streamyx account from 384K to 512K in August on the understanding that I will be enjoying a free Hotspot account and a Hypp calling card. Just recently, I bought a WiFi card for my PDA and was finally able to give my 'free' TM Hotspot account a try. To my dismay, I did not qualify for a TM Hotspot.

I feel cheated or misled in this matter. I read on the Streamyx site quite some time ago about this promotion and was even convinced by an agent that my upgrade will come with all the bells and whistles it promise. Without any form of black and white, the promotion is just a gimmick!

Now I am forced to pay RM10 per month for their hotspot service. I am not the only one as there are couple of 512K upgraded users who had the same problem with their hotspot. I managed to dig out some information on the free hotspot offer, which says that those who subscribe to the new 512K package will enjoy free hotspot and RM30 calling card. It never mentioned anything about new or existing subscribers.

Since we are upgraded users, Telekom should give existing loyal users better priority and extend their new benefits and promotions to us. If this is the case, I would advise all existing 384K users not to upgrade as they won't get to enjoy what new users are getting. If Telekom was not a monopoly, I would have used other providers. They should not promise what they couldn't deliver.
