The one person who is truly patriotic and widely perceived to have been unfairly convicted and therefore most deserving a royal pardon , is Lim Guan Eng.

His selflessness in helping the cause of a Malay girl and ended up in prison himself was most admirable. His watchdog role in uncovering corruption, abuse of power and mismanagement of public funds has improved good governance in public administration.

I sincerely hope Pak Lah will be magnanimous enough to give Guan Eng a chance in the coming general election. He will be judged most favourably by doing so.

The people will admire his sense of justice and fairplay as well as courage in having a strong opposition candidate for the coming elections.

When Barisan Nasional wins, it will be more honourable as they cannot accuse you of putting away strong and credible opposition leaders.
