The result of the recent election, despite opposition allegation that it was heavily rigged, clearly signified that people do not want anything to do with former prime minister Mahathir Mohamad anymore.

To me, Mahathir should be history. So many extraordinarily negative events have occurred in the bosom of his rule over the past 22 years. This is the man who has calumniated, slandered his deputy and put him in jail in a trial that has reverberated throughout the world as being flawed.

As an ordinary Malaysian, I do not want to have anything to do with him anymore. He should be reading the Quran and asking God for His forgiveness, not meddling in the affairs of this country anymore.

Yet, current prime minister Abdullah Ahamd Badawi has chosen him to be the advisor to Proton, apart from Petronas.

What's next? Is Abdullah going to appoint him as advisor to the Prime Minister?
