The Employees Provident Fund (EPF), the largest such institution in this country with 13 million contributors and many millions of stakeholders as well as being the richest entity in the country, richer than Petronas, somehow doesn’t have governance to its constituents!

Do you ever remember EPF having an annual general meeting (AGM) with its contributors, or even issuing a financial report to us, the contributors? Even when we have 100 shares in Tenaga Nasional Berhad, we will be called for the AGM, with door gifts, dividends and food. Something is really missing here, we only get dividends but no report of how well the performance is by sector, country or any segment.

Why cant they issue us an annual report, through which they can verify contributors’ nominee status, address, bank details, etc, so that we can be assured our money can be safe with us and we don’t have to go to through the Unclaimed Monies Act!
