The Anwar Ibrahim issue is no longer just only a Malay issue. It not only splits the Malay heartland. It is an issue of justice and fair play involving all.

When you are involved in a road accident like I unfortunately was, you see the systematic corruption and the manipulation of justice in the Malaysian government.

For those who remain apathetic, ask yourselves that when the time comes for you to seek justice, will it be there? The answer is perhaps only if you know the right person or are aligned to the right people.

Justice and fair play are therefore vital issues for every peace-loving, upright standing Malaysian.

In this respect, the Anwar issue will cause conflict and the government will then use force to muzzle the dissent.

For those who fear riots and conflicts, I ask: Would we rather have peace and prosperity over justice and righteousness? If Malaysians seek peace and prosperity above all else then one day we shall lose it because only when there is integrity, honesty and justice can we be assured of continued peace and prosperity.

Peace is not the absence of war but the presence of justice. Already we are seeing the fruits of our neglect of upholding justice with the level of corruption and crime is at an all-time high.

Just this morning I woke up to change my water filter after two weeks and all I could do was rant and curse because of the murky brown water we have to pay for. I don't even ask for drinkable water, just clear water.

I bet my bottom dollar that crony capitalism and corruption has everything to do with it. Over Chinese New Year, I met someone who was robbed in Bangsar in broad daylight. And recently a lawyer was attacked and beaten up at around 7pm, also in Bangsar.

The arrests for corruption have stopped. The slick catch phrases even less. The feel good feeling is fading fast. I am beginning to think we've been left high and dry and the public has been duped once again.

Let's make a collective plea to the government to do what is right in the sight of God and bring healing and justice back to our nation. Put away all malice and politicking and do the sensible thing now - release Anwar.
