Writers like Shaukat Ali and Dr G Walter are deriding emigrants in that greed is their sole motivation for emigration.

I would like to know how well they know the people who have emigrated and how familiar they are with their situation? Simply generalising with sweeping statements is an insult in itself.

Do the two writers really think that emigrants are cowardly people when they have the guts to pull out their roots entirely and start anew in an unfamiliar place?

I would say they are more courageous than those who stay behind and do nothing but voice their intentions to make a difference and yet effecting nothing whatsoever.

Funny that I don't see the very people who degrade those who move to other countries expressing the same opinion of those who come to our country for better opportunities.

And I fail to comprehend why they cannot understand the motivation for emigrating - injustice. I think it's frustrating when some people who moved to this country a couple of years ago are getting first-class citizenship while others who's ancestors were here before our independence are still viewed as second-class.

People in this situation are just looking out for themselves and/or their families and do not deserved to be dismissed with derision.
