Facts on Kelana Jaya field speak for themselves

I am replying to the replies made by R Nadeswaran and Mak Khuin Weng in the Kelana Jaya field case.

Politicians are always accused of being recalcitrant for refusing to own up to their mistakes, even when the facts are crystal-clear.

It seems that opinion-makers and the so-called member of NGOs are in the same category.

Declaring one's willingness to apologise when no apology has actually been extended is tantamount to recalcitrant refusal to admit mistakes.

The issues I raised was clear. When I wrote to correct the facts of both the said authors on their respective article on the case of Kelana Jaya field, I quoted specifically the paragraphs concerned.

My clarification was based on official records and not personal memory or personal previous writings on other cases for which the facts are different.

Both the authors had penned their articles in such a manner that they implied that Selcat promoted Noraini despite her 'guilt' without censuring her.

In actual fact, she was promoted by the executive one year before the Selcat hearing and that although she was not found personally responsible for the amendment to the local plan, the whole department led by her was pronounced by Selcat to be "reckless, incompetent, and unprofessional".

Mak had even maliciously gone further to accuse me of covering up the case as Selcat chairperson when there were six other members, including two opposition members, sitting in Selcat, inquiring into the case.

I feel sorry for anyone who is unable to see the issues raised.

Of course Mak will never see the issues. He went further to mix up the issues by raising other cases of different set of facts to justify his mistakes. Malicious intention is the only logical explanation for his action.

In this respect, perhaps he should learn from Nadeswaran who has demonstrated his professional way in putting up his argument, despite his refusal to apologise for a clear mistake done.

I am not interested to further argue with Mak if he is incapable of showing his maturity and ability to understand the issues and to put up a proper argument.

Thank you.
