In attempts to destroy Anwar Ibrahim politically, the propaganda machinery of the Barisan Nasional has been churning out many smear-scripts targeted at the man for the last six years.

He was not only wrongly convicted for 'sodomy', but also publicly accused as being a 'CIA agent' at a time when Malaysia-US ties were bad during Dr Mahathir Mohamad's reign. Now that Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has moved Malaysia closer to US to even allow US nuclear-powered aircraft carrier to visit Malaysia, it shows that the 'CIA agent' label against Anwar is nonsensical or applicable to Abdullah and Deputy Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak themselves.

Anwar was also smeared as a Islamic 'fanatic' whose daughter's higher education was allegedly financed by extremist groups in the US.

However, from the expressions of joy and relief from the governments of the US, Australia, Canada and the United Nations, this smear campaign has failed miserably and pathetically. How could a 'CIA agent' be also an 'Islamic fanatic' ? The propagandists were either uncoordinated or brainless.

Also, it had often been claimed that Anwar had been forgotten by Malaysians and the world, but from the widespread expressions of joy and relief, it is clear that Anwar had never been forgotten by upright people of goodwill all over the world. This is another triumph of truth over propaganda.

It is time Malaysians and friends of Malaysia all over the world learn to see through the organised falsehood and state-sponsored propaganda against dissidents in Malaysia. It is time Malaysians from all walks of life learn to be skeptical and critical when reading mainstream newspapers or listening to government and BN leaders as well as their hired propagandists, both local or in Western countries.

Syabas and kudos to malaysiakini and other alternative media for standing upright and exposing falsehood without fear or favour in the Dark Age of Malaysian history. My family and I will always pray for all brave Malaysians.

May God and His angels protect and guide all of you in the continuing the ongoing struggle for truth and justice for all.

May God forgive all those who harm Anwar Ibrahim, his family and reformasi supporters unintentionally, unwittingly or under duress and threat, especially ordinary police personnel and mainstream journalists.

May God exterminate evils in our midst. Amen.
