I totally agree with what Nobitta has voiced out in her letter Harga minyak: kesian sungguh rakyat .

The writer has put to print what the majority of us who voted the BN back into power feel deep down in our hearts. We feel that we are being played out by the powers-that-be who allow essential items like food products, petrol etc. to be increased in price almost overnight!

What was the rhetoric for then in March promising us a better future? Where is Pak Lah's promise to make our lives more meaningful? Where is the 'Cemerlang, Gemilang, Terbilang' motto leading us to?

I'm sure the Dato Seris, Tan Sris, Tuns, Datuk this and Datuk that are not worried about this as they lead a privileged life. Part of their living expenses are borne by the government anyway which in turn collects taxes.

And who pays taxes? It is us, the ordinary Ahmad, Ah Chong and Samy who has to dig in deeper into our pockets to pay up. We pay up because if we don't the water supply will be cut off, the electricity will be turned off and the phone lines will be cut.

I would like to ask the powers-that-be these questions - Where's the promise to let us live a better life? You have got what you wished for ... we have re-elected you back into power overwhelmingly. What kind of a life do you envision for us common folk?

The people are being choked by unnecessary inflation. Where's the wealth from Petronas going? Please stop the price increases. Desperate people need your help desperately. Do not tie the hands of those that voted you into place.
