Pertubuhan Aduan Rakyat (PAR) Malaysia applauds the decision made by the High Court yesterday in disallowing the trustees of Vivekananda Ashram from quashing a ministerial decision to gazette the ashram as a heritage site.

The trustees of the Vivekananda Ashram should understand the sentiments and the historical significance behind the ashram. They should accept the decision made by the High Court as the 104 years identity is not lost.

The site as been reconsigned as one of the heritage site and would be gazetted according to Tourism Malaysia which announced this last year, therefore its trustees should drop the idea of redeveloping the ashram site as a high-rise condominium.
