I am appalled at the opposition to the proposed Interfaith Commission even though it has received the support of the Culture, Arts and Heritage Minister.
Why object to something that is attempting to create harmony and understanding between all races and faiths in this country?.
I must say that those who oppose it are shortsighted and out of touch with the aspirations of most Malaysian who wants all to live in peace and tranquillity.
There is no reason to fear the commission if one has full faith in one's own religion. Only the lack of faith allows fear and apprehension to creep in and sow the seeds of doubt. For example, one should not be worried to talk to another man or woman even though one is married unless one thinks that such conversations could lead to a break up of one's own marriage!
I say the Interfaith Commission should be given a chance.
