PM Najib Abdul Razak has again asked those named in the 1MDB probes to clear themselves, while adding the truth will prevail.

His persistent silence while refusing to provide substantive arguments to back his statement is hard to swallow.

Can he, as 1MDB chairperson of the board of advisers, explain why his version of the truth is not forthcoming as he was always in the driver’s seat in 1MDB?

Why do we need multinational investigations to get to the truth?

The facilitator of all the shenanigans was 1MDB, did it lose track of the money trail despite the glare of publicity over these years?

Were they defrauded; if so why not admit that?

Regardless of the ‘truth prevailing’, the crux of the matter is that the Malaysian fund under the PM has had billions siphoned off.

Notwithstanding his refusal thus far to explain whether that happened by default or design, he is culpable for the loss.

Whether it can be recovered from IPIC is irrelevant; PM Najib allowed billions to be taken out of Malaysia by fraud or design.

Which part of that responsibility position is it that Najib and his ministers cannot see?
