Kindly allow me to quote from your report Unlikely backer for Dr M's call to reveal APs list : 'Responding to Mahathir's call (to release names of Approved Permit holders), International Trade and Industry Minister Rafidah Aziz said on May 31 that the list of APs would not be made known to the public as it has not been the government's practice to do so'.

What kind of logic is the honorable minister using? The AP holders list will not be made known because it has not been the government's practice to do so? But this is the very reason why the people want to see the list because the list was never known before this! If it was known, why should people insist on seeing it?

What is minister Rafidah Aziz trying to hide? The names of her relatives on the list? So what? Even the ex-PM has made it known that his son is also an AP holder. There is no shame in that, because the young man probably deserves it, and has the money to import Porches.

I think people are now asking Pak Lah to make it government practice to release the list. I suppose the list would read something like 'Who's who in Malaysia'.

This lack of transparency is something that the people of Malaysia would like to see end soon. If Pak Lah is serious about making changes, now is the time; just override what his minister has said.

Tell her we cannot hide the facts from the Malaysian public any longer. They have the right to know the truth; after all, didn't Pak Lah ask the people to tell him the truth ? The people are also asking the same thing from the government, as long as it does not threaten national security.

If the list of scholarship loan defaulters can be made public, why can't the list of AP holders be made public for good moral reasons?
