I am saddened by the news that the authorities have arrested members of Ayah Pin's Sky Kingdom commune.

For every voice that condemns these people, there will be others who are willing to say otherwise.

If the man incited hatred or violence, fine, lock him up. But this is a man of peace who has done a better job than our race-based political parties in uniting Malaysians of all races and religions.

His commune should be declared a tourist attraction, with its gigantic tea pot and arches and various structures.

Malaysia is busy trying to sell itself as a moderate, multi-religious, multicultural nation to the world. Well, now is a chance to live up to it. But persecute Ayah Pin and forever be condemned as a nation of hypocrites.

Even the Holy Quran states that if God wanted he could have had all of mankind to be of one faith. But that was not His design. So why don't we live and let live, and let God be the ultimate judge of things beyond human comprehension.
