Religion is a personal and private matter. Nobody has a right to dictate what one should follow. Religion came into this world one after another. Even after Islam, Sikhism came and then came Bahaism.
These new religions did not disturb the harmony amongst the people. Whoever believed in them followed the teachings peacefully and they were and are happy with their own ways of their new religion.
The government can only take action against anyone if there is threat to the well-being of the people and if people are being forced to join any new ideology or movement. If a movement is doing good and is bringing all the races and religions together, then we should appreciate the efforts of its leaders rather then fearing them.
No one can change my religion if I am convinced that it is good for my well being. It is for this purpose that some good souls spent a good part of their time in life advocating the formation of Inter-Faith Commission for better understanding of one another's religion.
Even that, too, was shot down by some overzealous people. The religious leaders instead were advised by the prime minister to have dialogues amongst themselves religious but unfortunately, the playing fields is not level for this purpose .
The police must bring to book all those who took the law into their own hands in invading and vandalising the Sky Kingdom commune in Terengganu. The world has shrunk today owing to globa isation and the Internet.
Let us be absolutely fair in the eyes of the world in whatever we do.
