To equate PKR as a mask for PAS, based simply on Reformist Tulen's sweeping allegations, sounds very much like a BN attempt to slip in its propaganda into an alternative media like malaysiakini . Nevertheless, assuming that he is genuine, I would urge Reformist Tulen to re-examine the premises for his grouses.

It is perverse logic that just because he is ignorant of the activities of PKR (by his own admission), then the conclusion is that PKR is inactive. The mass media in this country is absolutely controlled by BN, and any news about PKR's activities or Anwar Ibrahim that are worthy of mention are blacked out. Just talk to the ordinary reporters of these newspapers and they will concede that in private.

Selective news from other opposition parties sometimes do get published, but only to lend credence to a farce. These parties are not viewed as potential threats to BN's supremacy. News about DAP are subliminally used by BN as reminders to the Malay majority that there remain chauvinists in our society and therefore the Malays are coerced to be loyal to Umno. News on PAS, meanwhile, are only those which belittle their alleged small-mindedness.

It is obvious to the discerning Malaysian that Umno loves having DAP around for its role in allegedly keeping our society divided. That keeps BN in power. PKR has been responsive to all those occasions mentioned in Reformist Tulen's letter. These events just don't get published, period.

I know because I am a well-informed member of the party. PKR is here to stay and is a clear and present threat to BN.

Malaysiakini is about the only credible media that carries the news that really matter, and that has greatly disturbed BN. Hence, the persistent attempts to harass malaysiakini into oblivion. Perhaps, Reformist Tulen's letter is a crude and imbecile attempt by BN paid spinners to scare-off sympathetic non-Muslim malaysiakini readers by insinuating that PKR is a PAS Trojan Horse.

If this is the case, then my comment to Reformist Tulen would be that malaysiakini's readers are not those 'lembu dicucuk hidung' types you are used to. Try harder and it helps if it is done more subtly. Malaysiakini publishes all, without fear or favour.

If on the other hand, Reformist Tulen is genuine and concerned, I urge him to read PKR's Suara Keadilan . For your information, this newspaper still has not been granted an approved permit to be published, even though PKR is a legitimate political party and is entitled to a party organ like the others.

I urge that Reformist Tulen to join us in protesting this despicable attempt at keeping him and millions others ignorant of the truth and thus continue making half-baked conclusions, to BN's delight.
