I refer to the letter Malaysiakini 'a poison' to country .
What should surprise Dawud is that he has a medium to air his views, for whatever they may be worth. His basic attitude is "If you disagree with the majority, shut up, or else".
The racial and religious purity road that he advocated that we Malaysians travel down is one fraught with the perils of prejudices, bigotry, intolerance, disunity and the kind of evils that inevitably lead to extremism and national destruction.
They breed the kind of environment for demagogues to flourish. Sadly, it's an easy to road to travel down and the country has gone down that way before. Fortunately for us, our right-minded national leaders are doing what they can, albeit under difficult circumstances, to lead the country in the right direction.
I do not know where Dawud comes from, but having been here for three short years, he has gained his permanent residency status and already has the temerity to tell the government to send citizens that he finds annoying to Siberia!
Quite possibly, he will become a citizen and acquire rights and privileges not available to other citizens whose forefathers have been here for three or four generations. Should people such as Dawud also acquire political power, what would the country be like?
