I am a retired senior military officer, who grew up living together and sharing both good and difficult times at work and play with my friends. Race never come into play as we shared and always valued each other professionally as comrades in arms.

Off work, we and our families enjoyed sharing time in helping each other out and seeing the children grow. Though retired, we continue to keep in touch and in fact have managed to enlarge further our circle of friends.

I am deeply hurt by cheap shots from people in responsible position. This practice is wrong and should never be tolerated. To my non-Malay friends, my sincere advice is to ignore 'cheap' political leaders who fail to value themselves.

As the old Malay saying goes: 'Sebab pulut santan binasa, sebab mulut badan merasa'. Please engage brain before opening mouth.
