Malaysians from all walks of life are mad and angry at the police force after the video clip of a naked woman being forced to do ear squats became public knowledge. At first I had confidence that the rouge policewoman would be brought to book and be punished severely.
But after reading that the Deputy IGP said that it is the person who shot the despicable scene that would be hunted down and not the policewoman, I have lost complete confidence in our police.
Every now and then the police have urged the public to come forward as witnesses if they have seen a crime being committed. Now we have the Deputy IGP saying that police will be going after the eyewitness to a crime that is very much of public interest.
I wonder what the police would says if someone happened to shot a secret video of policemen assaulting or beating up a person? Would they charge the policemen or the person who shot the scene?
Based on what Deputy IGP has now said, the person who took the video of the naked woman doing ear squats. If that is the case, I believe from now on, nobody would want to stick their necks out to expose any case involving police brutality or corruption. And the police will continue having a jolly good time.
