It is very sad and disgusting to see and read about the police abusing their powers in the naked ear squat case. It would seem to me that the person who took the video is no whistleblower but rather just another one of those lowly police personnel only interested in viewing a pretty woman naked.

I would not be surprised if the filming had been purposefully arranged with the policewoman in the video aware the whole time.

It just goes to show how far we have progressed or rather "de-gressed" since our Merdeka. We are supposed to have been able to self-govern ourselves and be respected as one of the leading Muslim nations. But as it is today, now in the year 2005, after some 47 years of independence, it is quite clear we as a nation are not moving forward.

The state of our nation seems to be deteriorating in every aspect, from our various government departments to education to the daily attitude and behaviour of our people. The culture that is developing as the Malaysian culture is obviously not one in the desirable direction.

Our younger generation is not being groomed for nation-building, much less globalisation. Our Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has been talking about "cleaning up" and "giving power back to the people" effectively about efficiency and meritocracy. But it remains to be seen whether this talks is really going to materialise into action.

With this latest farce, it is time for the PM and everyone who wants to see this nation move in the direction of clear blue skies to speak up, act and make sure that those who have done injustice to the country, those who have tarnished the country's image, those who are ruining the country's wealth are removed from office.

There is no more room for such nonsense for this country is collapsing under the burgeoning weight of all these fat and waste. Let there be no more cover-ups. Let there be meritocracy. Let us improve in every aspect to build our Malaysia Boleh tag - which will not be fulfilled in the next hundred years if we continue like this.
