What happened within the confines of a police station has been brought out into the open by unscrupulous people who have shamed and embarrassed not only the suspect but the nation as well.

I believe it is the person who recorded the incident and the person who further publicised it by bringing it to Parliament who are guilty of shaming the women in the video as well as the nation. As until now, we have not seen any evidence of physical torture by the police, otherwise by now the newspapers would have reported it.

Ear squats were common in my younger days and I don't see any reason to be upset as it has been done in front of a policewoman, not a man. It is the person who took the video who had done a lot harm. But worse are those who are turning what was a routine check into a big human rights abuse issue.

And the suspect so happened could be a Chinese national. This may be true as it is said about 50 percent of the foreign women arrested in vice dens are Chinese nationals. Let's us focus on important issues like racial unity, which was more real in the past than now.
