The Barisan National government have no right to raise petrol prices to accumulate a revenues of over RM4 billion as confessed by Prime Minister Abdullah Ahamd Badawi. Unless he first orders full investigations by an independent body into all government spending over the last 20 years of the BN administration and brings to justice those who pilfered and squandered the people's money.

There have been numerous allegations of impropriety reported by opposition groups including the latest one on the spending of RM3 million for former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad to meet with President George W Bush at the White House.

The people are made to suffer as a result of wanton abuse and waste. Why not ask Petronas to carry out the infrastructure and public utility projects? After all, they make millions of US dollars over the sale of premium grade oil.

Why burden the people any more than they already are? Perhaps the letter A change in government not impossible may have to become a reality for us to be rid of the shackle of abuse and corruption.

God help us...
