I refer to your news report Cartoon row - the media blunder .

I feel that the New Straits Times has got off lightly. They portrayed another cartoon in which the Prophet's name was not addressed with due reverence. They should be held to this high standard.

Secondly, having known that this was already a global and sensitive issue, they went on to print this cartoon after other media had been reprimanded. In addition, they went on to justify their action by printing the same cartoon on the front page of their paper - thus committing the offence of insensitivity twice.

Considering all this there is bias when it came to their punishment (or lack of it rather). While I am all for media freedom based on responsibility, I do not accept the bias that has been shown to Umno-linked media.
