After reading the comments, I hope we all can calm down and bear with our prime minister, Pak Lah, and the BN government. Don't be too emotional over fuel price hike. When Pak Lah became PM, he said, 'Please work with me' and not work 'for me'.

From this statement you will know he is the kind of understanding leader and he is actually on the side of the rakyat. So don't misunderstand his good intention of passing on to us the bill for fuel hike. It is all good for Malaysia.

There are some reasons why Pak Lah choose to announce this unpopular decision:

1. Our MAS needs RM2 billion in next two weeks for its operations cost and the government needs to support it. Mind you, this is not a bail out, this is just to 'support'. Don't misunderstand.

2. Our government need RM240,000 to RM250,000 per month to maintain our PM's palace in Putrajaya so that our PM can work more efficiently. Of course, this is not inclusive of his bodyguards' fees, his allowances, five-star accommodation, etc. But compared to the White House, our spending is still cheap. Please bear with our prime minister.

3. Our national car Proton is suffering losses, so again we need to 'support' it, or we will lose face and national pride, and lots of bumiputera suppliers (good friends of BN) will have no jobs. Please bear with Pak Lah

4. Yes, Petronas is making RM35 billion of which 55% will be contributed to the government and the 45% balance will be used to support the F1 Grand Prix, buy executive jets, etc. This is to promote our Malaysia at the international level, so of course, you need to spend some money. So please bear with Pak Lah.

To overcome inflation, our government will control all prices but this shouldn't include of toll rate (every five years), allowances for senior government staff, quit rent, etc. So don't worry, everything is under control.

Bear in mind, our BN government was elected by a majority of Malaysians and we speak on behalf of the majority. So please bear with our BN.
