There was nothing offensive with MP Kelana Jaya's comments about religion and politics. In fact, he acknowledged and gave recognition to Islam as the official religion of Malaysia. He also commented for history books to include the record of sacrifice of the various people and races in nation building.

What is wrong with that? Indeed, if the other MPs particularly from UmnoYouth want to take it in the wrong context then it only shows their narrow-mindedness and insecurity.

However, I would contend that Umno Youth is not narrow minded and neither is the MCA so bold as to speak up. It is the sandiwara of Malaysian politics. Every now and then, MCA will say something to show that they speak up for the Chinese community.

Then Umno Youth gets offended and makes a big brou-ha-ha. This dual purpose sandiwara has been going on for decades and the rakyat is quite familiar with this BN antic. MCA appears to be championing the Chinese interests and to show that they are not a toothless tiger.

Umno Youth then rallies the Malays so as to have a cause to fight for. They say if we (the Malays) are not united, the other races will take advantage of us. It goes on and on. This time however, there is a third purpose and that is to divert attention from the fuel price hike.

Don't be fooled. MCA and MIC are toothless tigers and mere marionettes. This is another sandiwara .
