I refer to your article Dr M's ex-aide tells Syed Hamid to quit .

I am not shocked or stunned that an ex-aide from the former administration has the audacity to ask a duly elected and appointed full minister to quit, citing among others simple incompetence.

The tone of the press conference and the manner of the claims perhaps speaks volumes but sadly why this was not highlighted or seen over the prior two decades of alleged abuse and plundering in the name of mega projects and development no one can say.

It is indeed a pity that our founding fathers like Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra and Tun Hussein Onn are not around perhaps to give us some valuable insights of an individual who ran the country with an 'iron fist' but now calls for accountability, good governance, referenda, consultation, transparency and what have you!

Since we are talking about referenda perhaps can we start with the allegations that Petronas was 'used and abused' and how it served the interests of politically well-connected individuals and their families rather than the nation during the tenure of the last administration?

This allegation was also echoed by a former deputy prime minister of this country who was sacked under controversial circumstances and happenings unheard of in the civilized world.

Perhaps, we should open all the books to public scrutiny and have referendums.
