  • I refer to the report Tariff hike: TNB says 40 percent of consumers unaffected. Well, my premonition is right, the electricity tariff is going to be increased.

First the fuel price increase and now utility price increases for otherwise the utility companies will go bankrupt we're told. What about commoners like me? How do I increase my salary? There is not much to do except hope.

Looking into my crystal ball, in the not-so-distant future, I see a meetings and a show of hands supporting a motion to increase the allowances of state assemblymen and members of parliament by 30 percent to help these unfortunate group of people tide over the prices increases in fuel, electricity and water.

But alas! For commoners like me, who will help us tide over the increase in the cost of living resulting from the increase in oil prices and now electricity?

It is definitely different for the selected few who have all their expenses paid for. They can even show that they willing to take the LRT and get their driver to pick them up later.
