  • I refer to the letter of Fatimah Idris entitled Article 12: Nazri should establish mechanisms.

    The Penang demonstrators have their rights to exercise their constitutional right as Fatimah mentioned, but her claim that they exercised it peacefully is untrue. The demonstrators behaved like thugs and rowdies to the extent that even the police became concerned for the safety of the forum organisers and requested them to end their forum earlier.

    Fatimah needs to read the article of our former IGP Tun Haniff Omar where he has painstakingly explained the way it could or should have been done. That, I consider as an appropriate approach unless one would accept and encourages such rowdy behaviour. It need not have to take a minister to call it a stupid act, as it was indeed a stupid act.

    Fatimah is just throwing her stones at the wrong crowd, and as for her 'smell a rat' claim, the smell came from another direction. On all counts, she is misguided.
