I was so disappointed to read the letter Pak Lah right in 'toe the line' rule .

If Pak Lah and his people are all good people with good intentions and we should all do whatever the government says and toe the line prescribed by this (to use the words of the reader) 'man of courage and good intentions, interested in the greater good of the majority and trying to balance many conflicting demands cutting across all lines', then surely the most intelligent thing to do is to dissolve Parliament. What do we need parliamentary democracy for?

I would also like to take issue with his assessment that the PM is a man of courage. In the first place, if the PM is a man of courage, he has yet to demonstrate any signs remotely indicative of courage.

What exactly has the PM done so far to show that he has guts? Much as I dislike the tyrannical attitude of Dr Mahathir Mohamad, I must agree with his view that the present government is 'half past six and lacks guts'.

What Pak Lah has shown us so far is not only indecisiveness but a lack of commitment to combat corruption. Pak Lah has successfully deceived Malaysians by promising to clean up corruption. Malaysians were fooled into thinking that if we were to give Pak Lah a strong mandate, he would be able to clean up the Augean stables.

However, after getting such a huge mandate from the Malaysian voters, he has failed to live up to his promise. This PM is going to go down in history as nothing more than a great pretender.
