I refer to Fathima Idris's letter and I wonder if she can smell the rat behind the protestors' motives to disrupt the recent public forum in Penang on constitutional rights.

The protestors had only one thing in mind - to stop the forum from being held. How did they achieve that? By violent means. The minister in the prime minister's department was right in condemning the action as stupid.

It is clearly a different matter whether the minister should set up mechanisms to deal with the impasse we are facing vis-a-vis the religious jurisdiction issue facing converts.

What we saw in Penang was mob rule and it should be condemned by all reasonable people. Fathima Idris should have her nose checked.
