I refer to your report He helped rid two PMs will Pak Lah be next?

How the present premier is going to stop the attack against him from the former premier will determine how long he will remain in office. To date, Pak Lah has proven to be a man of his own who does live in the shadow of his former boss.

As long as his party and BN coalitions partners support him, he should be able to remain in office until the next general elections. The public at large, too, seem to support him against the ex-premier.

However, he cannot let his guard down as the former premier has a lot of tricks up his sleeve to make life more difficult for the current premier. For the public, bread and butter issues are more important than watching the fight of these the two giants in politics.

How one wishes that the present premier will instead spend his time on getting tough with corruption and abuse of power by his fellow cabinet members and the ruling elite which have caused the public coffers to be empty. The economic situation will be the main factor in deciding whether BN remains in power after the next elections - not the ranting of an ex-prime minister.

Pak Lah must act tough to win the respect of the electorate and the people might forgive his weaknesses if the economy remains strong. And the people will be more than happy with him if he can keep your promise to fight corruption and abuse of power by those who are entrusted with high positions.
