In recent days, the all-out 'war' between the present government, led by none other than Nazri Abdul Aziz, against Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad seems to be escalating by leaps and bounds. We hear from the government's side that all policies that affect the country are done on a consultative and consensual basis with in-depth discussions with decisions made that are deemed to be the best for the people of Malaysia.

What hogwash.

The people of Malaysia are not so lacking in intellect to know this is far from the truth. I need not remind the government, especially Umno's cabinet ministers, of their high-handed approach in rejecting outright the memorandum by non-Muslim government ministers on the needs to protect the rights of non-Muslims.

So, I ask, where was the consensual decision-making then? Did it evaporate suddenly in order to cause these non-Muslim ministers to resort to an 'opposition way' of conveying messages to the government as one fine minister reasoned?

I just hope that all Malaysians are reminded of this 'shambolic' portrayal of consensual decision making.
