Wow, I must say I am most impressed with Khairy Jamaluddin, the PM's son-in-law cum Umno Youth deputy leader cum investment banker, who led the anti-Israeli and anti-US demonstrations during which he attempted to barge into the convention centre to rebuke US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

Khairy's action reminds us of those days when Anwar Ibrahim or Ibrahim Ali and some others led demonstrations against the government, which eventually facilitated them into high political office.

I am also impressed with Khairy who demanded that all Islamic countries quit the United Nations to show their anger at the world body for doing nothing to stop the Israeli atrocities in Lebanon. Umno Youth, he said, would also make a list of Jewish companies whose products Malaysians should boycott.

For his actions in the last one week, Khairy has certainly crossed the proverbial Rubicon. Only time will tell whether these political points will make any difference to his political career although being the PM's son-in-law they will not do any harm at all.

But I am a cynic. Before giving Khairy the benefit of the doubt, I must see him doing a few other things as well to convince me that this new political conviction on his is truly kosher.

First, Khairy should demand that all the Asean countries like Singapore and Thailand sever their ties with the Zionist regime, not only for its aggression in Lebanon but also because their presence in these two neighbourly countries are making us very uncomfortable.

Secondly, Khairy and his mate, Tony Fernandez, the boss of Air Asia, should also sever their business and romantic links with Manchester United Footbal Club which is now owned by a Jewish American family.

In the past, Khairy has expressed his great admiration for MU while AirAsia is still MU's official carrier for Asia, whatever that means. Khairy should know that a great many of MU fans were very angry and sad at the takeover of MU by Malcolm Glazer. We now consider Old Trafford as an occupied territory, they say.

Thirdly, Khairy must also begin a campaign against Great Britain - especially Prime Minister Tony Blair - who also refuse to do anything against Israel. In fact, it was Great Britain which created the state of Israel which brought untold misery to the Palestinians as well as perennial instability to the Middle East.

But as a graduate of Oxford, Khairy may not have the heart to protest against the country that gave him political education and the best period of his formative years.

And finally (this is a tricky one for Khairy), in compiling the list of Jewish companies (the world over) and multi-national companies who do active business with Israel, Umno should be truthful and transparent because many of these companies do do business in Malaysia.

So over to you Khairy. People are watching.
