I am very disturbed by Dr Mahathir Mohamad's repeated calls for Brendan Pereira's removal from the News Straits Times , more so his reasons for doing so.

He said that the NST is a Malay newspaper. Since when? This divide-and-rule tactic has caused the world much strife and dissension. Since time immemorial, for e.g, the Tower of Babel incident, this has been the cause of wars and more wars.

I beseech all of you learned and progressive Malaysians to avoid falling into the same trap that Dr M has cooked up since his Malay Dilemma days. This is an old trick of his which may have succeeded many years ago.

However, it is no more workable now as most realise it is only for the benefit of Dr M's cronies, the creme de la creme of his group. We can't stop him from talking as this is a free country but don't allow him to influence you.

Dr M, please learn new tricks, we are not so foolish nowadays. If you're so pro-Malay, why go for a holiday with Ananda Krishnan? Please get real.
