I agree with the letter, Varsities not a place to propagate racial theories by Lovely Jin. Racism has no place in our institutes of higher learning. It is sad that this anti-Semitism is being encouraged by certain Muslim lecturers using Islam as an excuse. This must not be allowed because Islam is a religion of peace. Islam forbids the stereotyping of people by the colour of their skin or their ethnic race.

Obviously these Muslim academicians who promote anti-Semitism have not read the Quran. What does the Quran say about Christianity and Judaism? Chapter 5 Verse 66 states: "If only they would observe the Torah and the Gospel ... amongst them are people who are moderate but there are also those who are of evil conduct."

This verse proves that blind hatred of others is prohibited because people of all races and religions are made up of some good and some bad individuals. No ethnic group or people are 100 percent good or 100 percent bad. Even individuals can change within a short-time frame, which is why all religions believe in forgiveness. What the Quran states is that the peoples of the world should follow their religion faithfully as all religions promote goodness. No religion supports war nor terrorism nor unprovoked violence.

I am also disappointed at the Pope Benedict XVI's latest comments about Prophet Muhammad bringing "evil" to mankind. I feel that everyone should stop stoking the fires of hatred and intolerance. Let us live in peace and harmony.
