I refer to malaysiakini report, Grilled on 'missing' school funds, Samy sees red.

I think not only the works minister should see red but our education minister who has lambasted the higher deputy education minister for his earlier remark that there was abuse of power by officials in charge of the repair of a Chinese school in Muar should also see red.

Now that it is proven there was misappropriation of funds where only RM3,000 was used instead of the allocation fund of RM30,000, is he going to apologise to the deputy higher education minister for his uncalled remarks earlier? Was the public apology by the higher education minister and the reprimand of his deputy by the cabinet going to be retracted as he has proven his case in this matter

One shudder to think that this misuse of funds is just the tip of the iceberg, and if the issue was not blown up earlier, nobody would know the misdeeds that make some dishonest officials in the government rich by dubious means. How can our education minister being ignorant of this 'sad' affair if he is in charge of our education policy in this country. Did his top officials lie to him earlier about this brouhaha when he made a few statements that all was above board with regards to the renovations of the Chinese school in Muar.

The same goes to the works minister who seems to be unaware what his Public Works Department officials are doing. His remarks in Parliament that he will look into this matter is a case of old record playing an old song. He is full of controversy himself and one can see there were a lot of mega-projects under his watch which failed miserably with a lot of money flush down the drain but somehow or other, he still remain in office until now.

Now the public will wait with bated breaths on how the education minister is going to wriggle out of his embarrassing situation after he shot his mouth off before checking the facts first.
